My first time to order takeaway food there: asked not to put any cucumber but still found cucumber - calling back to figure out why and the employee working there was very unfriendly and complained that I only mentioned not to have cucumber in one dish but not another one, so it was supposed to my mistake - I am questioning the customer orientation attitude here. The other dishes I ordered here tasted very plain and not authentic - I was very disappointed, and will not come there again, particularly due to the unfriendly service attitude.
Shanshan House feels like the best Chinese restaurant in Berlin. The owner is enthusiastic and the food is delicious. Worth going again
The food here is one to one like from my hometown Nanjing. I am incredibly excited that I can eat the traditional dishes here like in Nanjing. We recommend the Eing (pickled salted duck) , 松鼠 鳜鱼 (Shanghai carp sweet and sour) , 扬州 Yan (Yan Zhou lion's head), 鸡蛋 饺 (egg sausage in a Nanjing stone pot) and 回锅肉 (twice roasted pork Sichuan hot) taste like from my grandma used to make me cry when I ate all of this. If you like traditional Huaiyang cuisine from China, this is definitely the right address. It should be mentioned that it is best to reserve a table and check the menu to see which dishes need to be pre-ordered.
Very authentic Szechuan Resto, which is certainly not easy to find in Berlin. Extremely tasty and service really nice (especially the owner).
The food was excellent, but it was too loud and too crowded to enjoy. Plus there were uncertainties about how to put the tables due to corona. Had to move or adjust tables several times.
One of my favorite Chinese restaurant in town
The best dim sums in town! Very friendly staff. Hotly recommended.
Food was ok. Was not so authentic as I hoped it would be. Maybe you have to specifically asked for it. Unfortunately the food didn’t came on the same time.
Favorite restaurant! Great taste and nice people! ?????
Almost the best huaiyang dish restaurant! Was totally amazed today, definitly recommend! Much better thab most of.chinese restaurants in duesseldorf!
There are many dishes you want to eat, you must book one day in advance, book in advance, book in advance, or there will be no more. I ordered 3 dishes and they were all pretty good, but the waiting time was a bit long, about 50 minutes, which may have caught up with the peak period.
Always fresh and delicious, of course with waiting time, no fast food. Definitely try it. Sunny greetings
Very authentic Chinese food, one of the first choices for Chinese food. The lion head and salt water duck are both recommended.
In German Chinese restaurants, the level is extremely average. I don’t think the chef knows how to prepare some dishes. Bad review!
One of few authentic chinese restaurants not afraid to make spicy food either. Really nice vegetarian options also.
An authentic restaurant that is right for people who want to enjoy real Chinese cuisine. It is not the same thing but really a culinary trip to China. Reservation is strongly recommended. So, if you fancy genuine Chinese cuisine, you should definitely visit this restaurant.
Absolutely delicious and authentic Chinese food once you figure out the secret menu. Finally a Chinese restaurant that means it when they say spicy.
Very authentic Chinese food. Supi.
Delicious! I had garlic okra with glass noodles, so good. My family also enjoyed it very much. Friendly service, everything great!
Taste of hometown
Super authentic and tasty, plus good service and location! The best Chinese restaurant in Berlin!
OMG ery tasty and authentic food with reasonable price, Top1 Chinese restaurant in Berlin! It's really delicious. . I have just found this one in Berlin for so long. Very authentic, real materials, without adding MSG, but it is very fresh. I strongly recommend San Xian Guoba and stir-fried intestines. I have n’t tried the next time. I heard that his duck is good eat. .
Rudest service I've ever had. Food not very good. Definitely not worth spending hard earned money at! We arrived at 20:40. They close at 22:30. The German waitress was sucking down a cigarette right outside. Already a red flag, but I chalked it up to being Germany. No greeting. I actually didn't realize she worked there until she followed us & told us where to sit. We had to call the other (Chinese) waitress to order because she took too long. Food comes out & is just OK. Full of sugar. I don't know how people rave about the kung-pao chicken. Way too sweet & half peanuts with hardly any chicken! The pork was also swimming in a too-sweet sauce. Same with the lotus root, which is unnecessary. Usually when a place cooks with that much sugar it's to cover up poor quality ingredients. The thousand year egg & spinach soup were fine. We asked about dessert at around 21:30 & were told they were closing soon. We ordered a pot of the wellness tea (which was also unnecessarily sweet) for 2 but with 3 cups. We were charged €3 for the extra cup. The big issue was how rudely we were rushed. An hour before closing, they sprayed the tables with a highly toxic chemical cleaner we had to inhale while "enjoying" our sugary food. I should have complained then (we were in the middle of our meal), but I didn't. I let it go. The smell lasted a long time & was nauseating & truly ruined the experience. But wait, that's not all! Starting at 21:30 the smoking German waitress came to the table, aggressively removing dishes. We had to tell her more than once not to clear food we were still eating. Towards 22:00, she became more deliberate in her "clearing" of the table. All servers know doing this is code for wanting the customer to leave. It wasn't even closing time! We paid our bill & were finishing our tea when she took the receipt - which we wanted to keep - off the table and crumpled it up with some dirty napkins. When we told her we wanted it, she first offered up the crumpled, dirty one. We asked for a new one. She complained about it in German to another employee, a Chinese man (the owner?), who started mocking us with obscene gestures behind our backs. Who does that to a customer? Before 22:00, I took my 3 year-old to the toilet. I came out & had to climb over a pile of garbage to get back to my table. I get that they want to leave at 22:30 sharp so they start to clean at 21:00 & left the trash next to the bathroom with no regard to the customer. I digress. Mean angry German waitress exactly at 22:30 shouts "we are closed now." Simultaneously we were gathering our things & putting our coats on. I put my toddler's outerwear on with our phones on the table & she comes right next to me & starts spraying that horrid chemical cleaner. I start coughing & tell her she sprayed it right in my face. She says it wasn't in my face. To be fair, she is right. It would have been psychotic to spray a customer directly in the face with toxic chemicals. But she sprayed it inches from me & the mist hit my face & I was forced to inhale it, with no regard to my phone or gloves or other things on the table. I told her she was rude, gathered up our things & left. Such a sour taste in my mouth from this experience. Had I just eaten overly sweet & not so great food I would have let it go, but after dealing with such nasty & rude service, I had to warn others. These people are wrathful, crude & truly unhappy, with no regard for their customers. They didn't want us there & they let it be known. I shudder to think how the kitchen staff feel, because I did wake up the next morning with diarrhea. I imagine if you're making food for people around that much hatred, some negativity is bound to surface in the food. Quite the opposite of "made with love." I warn you to not eat at this noxious restaurant, unless you want to be filled with toxicity & poisoned with chemicals as you eat Chinese food drowning in sugar.
Very authentic and homemade style Chinese food
We‘ve been waiting for more than one ONE HOUR and all four dishes are not really good. Completely waste my time here! And the service from the Chinese waitress is not acceptable at all! Thanks! To Ruin my wonderful evening!

Food is very good, interior is not so much.
Simply perfect
Very good coktails and well prepared ?
We had a long weekend in Berlin and found this restaurant in Google. I have to say the dishes are even better than the ones in China. We ordered squirrel fish, spicy kidney, guoba and cold rice powder. All the dishes are just perfect and authentic taste of the Chinese food. Highly recommended.
The best Nanjing restaurant in Berlin, whether it is old duck squid, squirrel fish, lion head, oil squid, all super delicious, highly recommended!
Best Chinese food I've had in Berlin, but we had to wait almost an hour between the first and last of 5 main dishes.
The second time, super delicious, squirrel fish wow must book, super delicious
Berlin's rare Jiangnan Weier ~ squirrel fish and lion head need to book, it is worth a try
If you want to eat delicious Chinese food, come here.
The best Nanjing food I have ever eaten in Germany, delicious to tears, completely recommended.
Really good food but very slow. Took us almost an hour to get the two dishes we ordered. They were both delicious and the meal itself isn’t that expensive but just be prepared to wait.
Good authentic (really, you will find some very weird stuff there) food
Not your typical German 'Asian place'. Actually a place that Asian people eat.
The food was tasty and we liked it very much. The only problem was that in the same place there is also reception for a pension, so sometimes stuff has to deal with both kind of guests. Better to get place not too close to reception.
The food is authentic. The price is reasonable. The restaurant is clean. BUT the waiter is obnoxious and spoils everything.
The food here is what I ate in Germany and China can taste the nearest shop, the boss is also very warm; after a meal allows us to stay in the store cards are also free to send tea.
They have great hotel rooms at a great price, but the waiter was so unfriendly to us, especially when the owner was not looking at him! I don’t think I’ll go back if he is working there when I walk in the next time.
Probably the best Chinese restaurant in town, if u want the fish and the Shizitou(lion heads) u need to preorder it at least one day before ! Super nice!
Traditional chinese restaurant. Very tasty!
We drove extra 100km today, and were pleasantly surprised by the kitchen. Very tasty, traditional, cozy. We recommend!
Once a predecessor told me that measuring the quality of a restaurant and a cook depends on whether his Kung Pao chicken ingredients and practices are authentic. As a senior foodie, I have eaten all the Chinese food that can be named in Berlin. I have also summed up some experiences in the constant experiment, and I used to have a picky mouth. One night in August 2016, my friend and I first came to this small hotel and ordered a kung pao chicken, braised beef and salted duck. As a child growing up on the Qinhuai River, the feelings of the salted duck are something that strangers can't understand. There are almost all meals at the dinner table, so no matter where you are in the world, you will be extremely picky about this dish. The salted duck of Shanshan Lodge is the taste of memory. The fat and thin meat is firm and bright, and the fragrance is fresh and refreshing. It is still very moving to eat an authentic hometown food within a thousand miles. Focus on Kung Pao Chicken, maybe you will have this feeling, whether it is domestic or foreign, the taste of Kung Pao Chicken Dish in each store is different, there are cucumbers, carrots, and even Let the bamboo shoots, of course, if you like the innovative taste to eat a fresh and refreshing taste, let me talk about it; I remember the practice of small chicken diced meat, green onion, garlic, ginger, bean paste, dried chili, pepper and peanuts, must be sour Sweet lychee, as for authenticity, you can ask the master of Sichuan local hotel, you can also refer to Beijing Emei Restaurant and Nanjing Sichuan Restaurant, Kung Pao Chicken is the famous town shop of these two hundred years old. The Kung Pao Chicken in the Shanshan Lodge is quite similar to the two dishes mentioned above. As an authentic Huaiyang cuisine restaurant, in the industry environment of Sichuan cuisine, spicy food and spicy Chinese cuisine, it is still possible to prove that the taste is the last word. Huaiyang cuisine relies on the local eating habits of the region, and it is a combination of East and West cuisines. Therefore, Shanshan Cabin is known as the innocent king of Chinese cuisine in Berlin. It is not surprising that it is favored by local diners. In the following two years, I visited the Shanshan cabin many times and tried most of the dishes. Almost no one disappointed me. It was incredible. Boss Zhu Shu is a native of Nanjing. He carried forward the traditional craftsmanship of the old Jinling Hotel on the land of Germany. He often said that the cook should make every dish with care, there is no suffocation; warm and thoughtful, especially his A Nanjing cream Mandarin and hearty laughter always activates the atmosphere of every table. If you want to try dishes other than the menu (except hot pot), you can book one day in advance. A rare Chinese meal, Shanshan Lodge recommended to everyone.
I expected more from this restaurant considering the many good reviews. We had the mapo tofu, fried Jiaozi and a pork dish with sweet sauce. It wasn‘t bad but everything was quite average. The mapo tofu was not spicy at all and we couldn‘t taste any Sichuan pepper.
traditional Nanjing salty water duck!!!!!!!!!!! So good!!!!!
It’s absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Berlin!!!!! The owner is soo funny haha.
